Chumash Language Revitalization Presentation

Chumash Language Revitalization is part of a national and global movement of indigenous peoples reclaiming their languages and working within their communities to increase use. This presentation with Maura Sullivan will give an overview of that movement as well as focus in on Chumash country and the current efforts for language sovereignty and autonomy. Archival material will also be presented and discussion on how Native linguists are using the academic and Western science of linguistics to make language learning more accessible as well as fun for newcomers.
