Virtual “Run Walk Ride” Event for Wildlife Research

For over 20 years, the National Park Service has been researching the behavior and health of wildlife in the

Santa Monica Mountains and the challenging conditions in which they have to exist.

These research programs have:

– helped determine where to build a wildlife crossing over the 101 freeway
– re-introduced red-legged frogs to the Santa Monica Mountains
– explained the main causes of death for mountain lions in our area
– helped us understand why rat poison is so dangerous to local wildlife.
