Topanga Actors Company Short-Play Festival 2023  Second round November 18 and 19

Good things come in twos! TAC performed for  large, enthusiastic audiences the weekend of November 4 & 5. If you enjoyed the performances, join TAC again this coming Saturday and Sunday for a whole new set of short plays! For those who missed the first set, take this next weekend as an opportunity to go see what all the fuss is about. Topanga Actors Company received over 400 submissions from playwrights all over the country and abroad. Plays were chosen with Topanga Actors Company’s mission in mind: to give local audiences the opportunity  to enjoy innovative theater works absolutely free of charge.

The second Festival weekend brings in a fresh selection of plays and some new talented actors. Join TAC at the Topanga Library on November 18 and/or 19 at 2pm, for drama, romance, satire, farce, all in ten to fifteen minute tales. Program will last about 90 minutes. Amy Tofte, the author of a play with a provocative title notes: “As a screenwriter, I read a lot of scripts in progress and help fellow writers with feedback. I started keeping a list of ‘worst offenses’ when writers created female characters. All the ridiculous things the characters mention came from real scripts written by men. And some of them still astound me.” As usual TAC offers the entire festival without any of the complications associated with booking tickets and so on. The programs do include “mature content.” An older teen will likely enjoy themselves but please don’t bring young children. Sunday’s program is a repeat of Saturday’s.
