Online Sustainability Courses at SMC

February 14, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Santa Monica College is offering free, online Sustainability Certificate classes that will begin on February 14th. “Sustainability in Organics Aide” will guide students in understanding the goals of a sustainable food system, ways of reducing food waste, and how to implement an organics collection program in the workplace, home or community. “Sustainability Service Technician” will introduce students to, and prepare them for, careers in the waste management industry.
The two noncredit Sustainability certificates are flexible and will be taught primarily through Canvas, to work with students’ diverse schedules. Students will gain access to academic and career counseling as well as assistance looking for jobs in the field.
Enrolled SMC students can borrow free Chromebooks, so even those who don’t have access to computers are encouraged to take this course.
You must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination if you are attending on-ground classes accessing campus services in-person. More info at www.smc.edu/vaccines
F1 Student Visa holders are not eligible for non credit courses.
