Learn the Art of Flintknapping with master craftsman
STEVEN SAFFOLD
COASTAL CHUMASH FLINTKNAPPER
Saturday, May 14 from 10AM – 2PM
Steven Saffold has honed his craft as a coastal Chumash
flintknapper for the past eighteen years. He has learned
about the materials utilized by his ancestors, and has first-
hand experience working, with our local chert.
His arrowheads, blades, and knives are now appreciated
by clients all over the world. Two of his arrowheads are
featured in the 2022 Derek Mclean “The Art of
Flinknapping” calendar.

Class is outdoors, limited to 10 participants, 16 and older – please bring your lunch, but
light refreshments offered by host Kat high
Cost: $100 per person
All tools and safety equipment are available to borrow for the duration of the class.
