Topanga Days is Back!

Topanga Days is right around the corner and it’s going to be well worth the price of admission to support your local community center. Everything you need to know about this beloved Memorial Day weekend canyon tradition and fundraiser for our community house is at www.topangadays.com, including Covid safety protocols, but there’s plenty of news that’s fit to print for TNT readers.

This year’s event will be held at the Topanga Community Center (TCC) located at 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Boulevard for two days only: Sunday, May 29th & Memorial Day, Monday May 30th from 10 am – 7pm and features five fabulous bands throughout both days.

The Topanga Days Memorial Day Parade is back on the morning of Monday May 30th and will feature a team of Grand Marshals who made a huge impact on our community during the COVID-19 lockdown: Inara George, Jake Kasdan, Jed Levy and Kristina Rocco Levy. These outstanding community members stepped up with the TCC & the Canyon Sages to feed & help our community’s seniors and others in need for over a year when the pandemic hit. They (with the help of many loyal volunteers) donated and delivered 17,000 meals, more than 1,000 food boxes and made more than 100 vaccination appointments for those struggling to get a vaccination time. For this effort, and for decades of service to the Topanga community, the TCC honors  them as our Parade Grand Marshals this year.

The Parade starts promptly at 8:30 am at Pine Tree Circle and ends at approximately 10 am. Floats begin lining up at Pine Tree Circle at 7am! Note that Topanga Canyon Blvd. is closed to all traffic from 7 am – 10:30/11 am from Mulholland to Pine Tree Circle, so if you need to go to PCH from the valley, you must take Old Topanga Canyon Blvd. Unless you live North of the TCC, CHP may not let you through the blockade at Mulholland and Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Make a plan for Monday!

For information about the parade, the wonderful businesses that sponsored it this year and to register a float go to https://topangadays.topangacommunitycenter.org/parade/

Because Topanga Days is a popular event and there is no parking available on the grounds of the TCC, shuttles will be running up and down Topanga Canyon Boulevard from 10 am to 7:00 pm Sunday and Monday, every 10-15 minutes. The shuttle stops are:

  • Viewridge Estates at the Viewridge Estates Sign
  • The Corral (East side of Blvd.) at Santa Maria Road
  • Flying Pig Turnout (East side of Blvd.) – Look for the Flying Pig 🙂
  • Café 27 (West side of Blvd.) at 1861 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd.
  • Community Center (no parking here) at 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd.
  • North of Oakwood (East and West sides) at Oakwood Dr.
  • Froggy’s Fish Restaurant (West side of Blvd.) at 1105 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd.
  • Topanga School Road at the Bridge
  • Topanga Market Parking Lot at Endless Color Pizza

Park inside the white lines on the Blvd. or you WILL be towed.

The TCC does not recommend parking on Cheney, Canyon Trail, Happy Trail & Summit. Your tires must be OFF of the road on side streets with no white lines. If you block fire truck access you will be towed. Fire danger is real, and patrols will be making sure roads are clear.

Ticket sales are online only this year. Get tickets now at www.topangadays.com. Day of mobile purchases may not be available as there is  limited capacity this year. Topangans, join or renew your TCC membership first for the best ticket prices & benefits throughout the year. Topanga Days is an expensive event to host as a non-profit fundraiser. The TCC is very fortunate to have its many sponsors this year. With special thanks to its Backbone Trail Sponsors: The Anthony & Jeanne Pritzker Family Foundation, Abacus Wealth Partners, The Wright Way Team with Compass Realty, Mananalu Water, and Snyder Sutton Real Estate.
