Topanga Library, December 18. 2 p.m. A staged-reading with music: FREE.
Stories become classics for a reason. Topanga Actors Company is so excited to announce a special engagement performance of Truman Capote’s lyrical and touching classic “A Christmas Memory.” One performance only at the Topanga Library, Dec. 18, 2pm. This beloved Christmas tale follows the tender friendship between a young boy and his elderly, ‘touched,’ cousin, who manage to carve out an exquisite Christmas despite the cold, skinflint relatives who rule their lives. “A Christmas Memory” is a dreamy, lyrical, endearing story of unconditional love and the joy of giving that will tug at your heartstrings. This isn’t a story about children with piles of toys or a fantasy about a train ride to the North Pole, this is a story about love. Human love. The greatest gift we will ever receive whether at Christmas time or any other time. The story is a penetrating experience that brings audiences to see it again and again. Please join the Topanga Actors Company for this special performance, and stay after for fruitcake (or cookies!). Suitable for ages 10+. Admission is free.
Topanga Actors Company is delighted to have returned to in-person performances this year. TAC was founded in 2015 for the purpose of exposing modern theatrical works to beloved audiences. During the pandemic, TAC was the very first theatrical company in Los Angeles to broadcast a zoom production, and they continued to do so throughout the long period of isolation. Pre-covid, productions included plays that kept patrons au current and even included a 10-minute Play Festival that had over 600 submissions from all over the country, and beyond.
