Book Talk: Sages Host Topanga Author Linda Ballou 

Linda Ballou will share insights into her book Embrace of the Wild, inspired by the indomitable, Victorian Age explorer Isabella Bird. Linda was honored to be selected as the “Isabella Bird Expert” in the BBC Docu-series Trailblazers spotlighting women who have paved the way to Female empowerment.

Linda Ballou, adventure-travel author of a huge selection of books and articles, Though Linda has written everything from celebrated novels to personal travel experiences, this story is especially close to her. As a travel writer herself, Linda focuses on the story of Isabella Lucy Bird, who broke ground as an explorer and travel writer in the Victorian era.

Isabella was not just a tourist, but an equestrian explorer who took on rugged paths through Hawaii and on to the Rocky Mountains. Join the Sages as Linda explores the life of this indomitable woman who became the best-loved travel writer of her time and broke ground for all who followed.
