TNT Update January 14, 2025 6pm

We hope this message finds you safe during these challenging times.

The TNT crew is safe and working offsite as possible, given power and cell availability.

Our Los Angeles / Santa Monica Mountains disaster has played out on national television and the battle over the narratives is fully underway.

We have heard many stories coming out of Topanga Canyon regarding heroic efforts, extensive generosity, selfless acts of kindness and support within our community. Unfortunately, there are also complaints and grievances, rumors and accusations. It is our hope that we can set aside differences for now and focus on the immediate situation and what will help most.

Our January 10 issue is still being held at the printer but we expect its distribution by the weekend if all goes well. As we are a biweekly publication, there will be little of immediate relevance in the delayed issue but we hope it will provide some light-hearted reading and distraction. It includes the descriptions of some upcoming events that look like they will take place.

Our next issue is being written by staff and contributors as I post this and it will bring you as much information about these times as we can muster in our offsite, wobbly positions. The next issue will be distributed January 24.

The Palisades fire crews continue to work to protect structures in Topanga Canyon over the next few days. Let’s be patient and give them time and space to work.

We look forward to seeing everyone again once repopulation starts. Stay safe, be as calm as you can and take care of yourselve as well as your neighbors. Be mindful, because many have suffered tremendous loss. This trauma will be carried by us all for some time; let’s nurture the resilience we need to come through.

Warmly,

Bonnie Morgan, Publisher
