Froggy’s Opens its Doors for CRE Grinch Christmas Party

December 18, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 11:30 pm

TOPANGA, CAFroggy’s Topanga Fish Market is an institution and longstanding favored fish cuisine hot spot for destination restaurantgoers along with Topanga locals who have been wanting the restaurant to reopen its doors since
its June 2016 closing. While plans were in the making to reopen in 2019, a nationwide pandemic sealed its threshold
shut for another couple of years.

With only a handful of restaurants to choose from in the Topanga area, Froggy’s always added a cozy vibe nuance
that few establishments could match with its vaulted ceiling dining great room, thirtyfeet curtained windows, custom
carved wooden tables, and inside warm fireplace that owner Lance Roberts himself keeps crackling for his customers.
Our Froggy’s fire never extinguished, and it gave me solace to watch my customers warm their hands over its glow
after coming in from the cold, said Roberts. Alternative management hosted events at the restaurant throughout the
past two years, but only in recent months has Roberts once again harnessed the reigns. He’s been quietly and gradually
renovating the place.

A decision to reopen the restaurant for a 2021 Christmas gala came on the heals a conversation between Roberts and
event producer Pidge Jobst, who runs the Content Reign Entertainment outfit, a socially conscious entertainment
company that provides television series, webisodes, and feature films to the Industry, here in Topanga. CRE and LA’s
rock radio station, 95.5 KLOSFM, hosted a red carpet premiere at the megavenue, Avalon Theatre, in Hollywood,
showcasing its development slate that was attended by over 140 Topangians back in 2019, also before venue
shutdowns. This time, we are rolling out the red carpet for the people of Topanga, and what better way to kick off a
Froggy’s reinstatement than with a robust, festive holiday party.

CRE will host its The Grinch Christmas Party at Froggy’s. Alongside an outside 100
feet of red carpet with photographers and snow falling on attendees beginning at 5:30 PM will be a tenfoot mouth
sculpture of the Grinch, which eventgoers will traverse through as part of the entranceway to the event. The event
touts, if not taunts, Topanga locals to “come grouchy… come grumpy… but come green.” Its evening’s music and
dancing will be provided by local DJ FahMina, outfitted in a costumegreen color array. The gathering will also
spotlight a Best Grinch outfit prize, key lime pie contest, a Whoville projected wall, a long spread dessert table served
first (“…just how the Grinch likes it, the flyer states), before a provided GrinchGreen Buffet, inclusive of the storys
roast beast, along with vegan and vegetarian sides, all hosted by character Ebenezer Scrooge.
