KING GILLETTE RANCH, 26876 Mulholland Highway, Calabasas.
This is the last chance to paint at King Gillette Ranch with Allied Artists before our Sunday, October 17, exhibit there. This historic property was once a ranch, housed a religious sect and served as a college campus. A eucalyptus lined allee is the entrance to this beautiful park that provides mountain vistas, oak groves, cherry orchards, lovely meadows and a Mediterranean estate and pond designed by architect Walter Neff.
Fine artist and noted instructor Annie Hoffman will conduct an oil painting Demo at 9am. Masks are a must for the unvaccinated.
ALLIED ARTISTS has picked a bunch of new locations to paint this year. Plein air paint-outs are a great way to meet other artists and discover new sites for inspiration. All plein air artists and art enthusiasts are welcome to participate, no membership required. Unless otherwise noted, we meet on the second Saturday of the month. At 9:00 a.m. we will start with a short painting demonstration by a featured Allied Artists member. At 12 noon you may choose to participate in a friendly and positive group critique or continue painting. Please note that there will not be a critique at paint-outs when Allied Artists have their Board Meetings. See monthly listing for more information. Bring your own art supplies, water, lunch, sunscreen and repellent, hat and walking shoes. We meet in the parking area, except when indicated. Rain cancels the paint-out.
