Sages Garden Club Meeting “Edible Gardens in Topanga”

November 1, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

Thursday November 1, 2023
1:00-2:30 p.m.
Sages Room

On Thursday, November 2 at 1:00 p.m., the Sages Garden Club will continue their series on gardening in Topanga. Carolyn Day, Hannah Wear and Sarah Priest will share their experience and seasoned wisdom on how to make your veggie garden grow in Topanga. Learn how to prepare the soil, create sustainable space that protects your garden, plant from seed and sprout and how to feed yourself (and others!) with the foods you harvest.

We are delighted to welcome our presenters, Topangan Carolyn Day, master edible gardener and founder of Growing Hope Gardens, a nonprofit organization, to address food insecurity among low income residents of homeless shelters and transitional housing. Growing Hope Gardens now leads resident food growing gardens for this vulnerable population.
Hannah Wear, born and raised in Topanga, founded Design Integration Group, a full service design and construction company in Topanga Center. Hannah, an architect, brings her knowledge and love of plants to all aspects of her work, including landscape design and installation, native and edible plant cultivation and harvesting and creating beautiful, sustainable and rewarding spaces for her clients.

The Sages Garden Club meeting will be led by Topanga landscape designer and garden guru, Sarah Priest.
We will then explore the “Secret Gardens of the TCC” for those who are interested.

These meetings are fun, free and open to people of all ages! Meet and mingle over refreshments. Hannah will bring her “trunk show” of native plants as well.  Meet us at 1:00 p.m. in the beautiful and bright Sages Room. There is plenty of free parking next to the TCC.
