Topanga Town Council Meeting

January 10 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Topanga Town Council

Wed, Jan 10th, 6-7:45pm at the Library
This month, we shall focus on two topics of grave importance to local residents: homeowners’ insurance and PSPS events. Have you recently been unceremoniously dropped by your insurer of many years? Have your premiums soared to new heights? We encourage interested residents to attend and share their concerns, experiences, and ideas for ways we can help resolve this crisis. It’s time to put our heads together to see what can and must be done on the Regulatory and/or Legislative front. In terms of better managing PSPS events, we recently met with academic researchers who are working on a policy-research paper (partially funded by industry but also by NOAA-a federal agency) regarding PSPS events and their impacts on communities-especially vulnerable communities. The session was organized by TTC emeritus member and Canyon Sages extraordinaire, Tam Taylor. Participants included the Canyon Sages, TCEP, the TTC, and community members. We shall go over what we discussed in our meeting with these researchers and what we felt the priorities should be.
