Young Scientists! Mediterranean Climate and Local Native Plants Workshop

February 19, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Have you ever wanted to experience Chile, Africa? Maybe Greece or Australia? Well, look no further than the Santa Monica Mountains! Find out what we have in common through exploring native plants.

Believe it or not, we live in a Mediterranean ecosystem. Plants native to California thrive in our climate and support the native wildlife in its surroundings.

Join Ranger Master and our native plant nursery team for this family-friendly program to learn about native plants, how they survive in our climate and contribute to a healthy ecosystem. Discover what you can do to preserve and protect native plants by learning how to plant them.

Meet us at the Santa Monica Mountains Visitor Center at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas on Saturday, Feb 19, at 10 a.m. We will meet in the courtyard with the blue umbrellas.

Program participation is limited for safety reasons, so please be sure to register by clicking the link below:

Don’t forget your sun hat, sunscreen, water, and gardening gloves.
