49th Topanga Days!

Topanga Days is back! In its 49th year, the three-day family-friendly festival and fundraiser continues to draw a diverse group of people to the Topanga Community Center (TCC) through an eclectic mix of musical acts, activities for all ages, local artists and vendors, food, desserts, drinks, and the outrageous and whacky Memorial Day parade. Topanga Days is the largest annual fundraiser for the TCC—a volunteer managed non-profit community center that is open to the public.

This year’s musical lineup features Grammy award winning artist, Fantastic Negrito, on Saturday, May 25th at 5:30 p.m., the catchy, synth pop sounds and dynamic stage presence of 80s Rock icons, Missing Persons, on Sunday, May 26th at 5:30 p.m., and the genre defying psychedelic folk sounds of musical savant, Jonathan Wilson, on Monday, May 27th at 5:45 p.m. In addition to the headliners, the diverse, crowd-pleasing Main Stage outdoor lineup includes, Krooked Kings, Nosotros, Venice, Deb Ryder, The FBR, Will Worden, Kummerspeck, Wynchester, Tristan Lake Leabu, Low Coast, Electric Magic, and The Dirty Lowdown.

The indoor Corral Stage also features an impressive lineup of local performers ranging in genres from americana and electronica, to funk and blues. Check topangadays.com for the times each band is scheduled to play, and more information on other fun Topanga Days happenings.

With plenty of additional activities for kids, from face painting to a Kids’ Fun Zone with various crafts, giant slide, and bounce house, or just some fun on the playground, this event makes for the perfect family outing.

One last highlight of the weekend is the Topanga Days Memorial Day Parade on Monday morning, May 27th from 8:30 am-10:30 am. This year’s Grand Marshal is World War II veteran and 50-year Topanga resident, 99-year-old Bill Dillon. Bill continues to inspire others with his commitment to service and living life to its fullest. The impressive parade of floats, cars, kids, firetrucks and more begins at Pine Tree Circle and ends at the entrance to the TCC where Monday’s festivities will begin with Gabbi Beauvais singing our National Anthem and a flag raising ceremony honoring members of the military. All active members of the armed forces with military I.D. receive free entrance to Topanga Days.

Topanga Days tickets are now available online at topangadays.com. Get more bang for your buck by becoming or renewing your TCC membership now and get a great deal on tickets. Presale ends on May 24 at 11:59 PM. At-the-door prices are $5 more for single-day passes and $10 more for multi-day passes. Kid prices stay the same.

The TCC has been very fortunate to secure Topanga Days sponsorships. Sophie Zeiler, the TCC VP in charge of Fundraising, adds, “We are grateful to everyone for helping to sponsor our fundraiser this year, as this event has become very expensive to host. This year, the Anthony & Jeanne Pritzker Family Foundation, Molson Coors, The Wright Way Team with Compass Realty, and Snyder Sutton Real Estate have led the way in being our Backbone Trail sponsors.” Every sponsorship makes a difference, and it is not too late to become a sponsor. All sponsorship information can be found online at https://topangadays.com/sponsors/become-a-sponsor/

A handful of local businesses have also generously stepped up to maintain the tradition of the parade and more are welcome to join in. “Our community is grateful to Adrian Wright and Jordan Wright of the Wright Way Team at Compass, Endless Color, William Preston Bowling and Suncoast Mortgage for financially supporting this beloved parade,” adds Zeiler.
