Window Shopping with Topanga Mercantile & Busto and Sun

Originally the Topanga Candle Company, now Topanga Mercantile, has expanded to sell jewelry, crystals and items made mostly by local artists. While the business thrives as a gift shop selling beautiful things at reasonable prices, it is their candles—created on the premises by master candlemaker Tom Vogel—that remain their biggest seller, along with crystals and CBD oil made from hemp.

Made from 100% non-GMO soy/coconut Vogel’s candles are created using one of four signature fragrances. The containers can be refilled for a fraction of the cost.

He holds candle-making classes in the shop at The Candle Bar, teaching five different techniques. After the hour class, participants take home what they’ve produced. Gift certificates available. (edited)

You’ll find newcomer Busto & Sun sharing space with the Mercantile. Busto and Sun creates custom hats and accessories to fit every client’s unique style. Every hat is created from scratch here in Topanga, using ethically sourced, high quality  materials, mixing traditional Italian hat-making with California design.

Topanga Mercantile and Busto and Sun can be found at 115 S. Topanga Canyon Blvd. @topangamercantile and @busto_and_sun
