The humidity is near zero. The wind is howling. Power is out. Suddenly, a brush fire ignites and spreads rapidly. Are you ready with a plan? Do you have ways to get verified updates on the fire so you can keep yourself and your family safe?
Or imagine a major earthquake cutting off our canyon from the outside world. Do you have enough water, food, and supplies to last days or even weeks? Do you have a Neighborhood Network in place so neighbors can share information and support each other?
Make your emergency plans at ReadyFest!
ReadyFest, Topanga’s Emergency Preparedness Fair, is where you’ll find the knowledge, tools, and resources you need to be ready for wildfires, earthquakes, and more — all in one place.
This FREE, family-friendly event brings together first responders, public safety organizations, utilities, nonprofits, emergency gear vendors, and disaster planning experts for a full day of learning, fun, and community connection.
You’ll get expert insights on Red Flag Warnings, evacuation planning, home hardening, Shelter-in-Place, insurance preparedness, and much more. Get or renew your Topanga Access Card and don’t miss the chance to celebrate Smokey Bear’s 81st birthday and snap a photo with Smokey!
There will be music, hands-on experiences, and plenty of activities for the kids, including up-close looks at firefighting vehicles and equipment. Plus, raffles with some truly great prizes and free food courtesy of World Central Kitchen.
Here are some important topics experts will be discussing:
