A Message From TopangaSAFE

On the one-year anniversary of the Palisades Fire, TopangaSAFE (Safety Awareness For Everyone) pauses to honor both the impact and resilience of our community. While the fire left visible scars, it also revealed something enduring, and true to the character of Topanga: people showing up for one another with clarity, care, and determination.

In the earliest days of the fire, critical updates were shared across various online channels—some public, with conflicting and often unverified information. This quickly became difficult to manage as conditions on the ground escalated, introducing potential vulnerabilities amid a surge in information and the spontaneous emergence of many new fire-specific groups.

Recognizing the need for clear, coordinated communication, a small group of dedicated volunteers came together to create TopangaSAFE — a unified WhatsApp Community designed to enable two-way communication and streamline real-time updates within a single, internal, inclusive and secure platform.

That same spirit continues today. TopangaSAFE remains active, supporting the community with updates on power outages, fallen trees, traffic incidents, lost pets, and other local concerns, while  amplifying critical information from partner organizations. We are grateful for the trust of this community and look forward to continuing to be of service to Topanga in the years ahead.

If you’re not already a member of TopangaSAFE, we invite you to submit your contact info through a brief form: https://topangasafe.org/join or use the QR code pictured here..

Stay connected,

Team TSAFE
