Growth, Gratitude and Goals: Topanga Farmers Market

This December was nothing short of magical at the Topanga Farmers Market, with our Holiday Markets bringing together over 25 artisans each week alongside our beloved farmers, makers, and community members. Shoppers found thoughtful gifts, festive drinks, specialty foods, handmade goods, and live music, filling the Topanga Community Center parking lot with warmth, good cheer, and canyon spirit. These holiday markets have become a highlight of the year, drawing both regulars and new faces eager to enjoy local offerings and support small businesses through the festive season.

After the energy and joy of the holiday markets, we are taking two weeks off to rest, reflect, and recharge. That pause between seasons feels restorative and necessary, a moment to slow down after a full year of growth and community building.

Looking back on the past year, we are filled with immense gratitude. What began as a dream to revive a weekly gathering has blossomed into a vibrant community hub where neighbors meet, farmers share their bounty, and local makers showcase their crafts.

Here’s a look at our favorite market stats from 2026 (feel free to sing to the tune of “The Twelve Days of Christmas”

  • 44 incredible Friday markets
  • 168 unique farmers, food producers, artisans, and makers participated in the market this past year
  • An average of 300-500 visitors attended the market each week
  • 3 markets canceled due to the Palisades Fire
  • 1,000+ boxes of fresh produce served to our canyon’s seniors and neighbors in need
  • 2 years (in March!) the Topanga Farmers Market has served the community
  • 8,000+ New Instagram Followers for a total of 16,000 followers!
  • 2,500 new Newsletter Subscribers for a total of 4,200 subscribers!
  • $973,000+ spent by all of our customers on organic, nutrient-dense produce and prepared foods directly supporting small, family-owned farms and businesses
  • $23,000+ Contributed by our generous Market Sponsors
  • 456 “service” dogs visited at the market—service credentials unclear, cuteness undeniable
  • 1,000,000+ hours Kate and Freddi have spent discussing weather forecasts
  • 2 tired, yet grateful founders

As we contemplate the new year, we’re inspired by what’s possible. Our goals for 2026 center around increasing community outreach programs: in particular, our “Neighbor in Need Produce Box” program, which in 2025 was funded generously by the World Central Kitchen. That funding ended in December, and to continue the program, we must raise $500 per week, to provide these community members with nutritious, organic produce delivered right to their doorstep by our local volunteers. We’re currently 53% of the way to our sponsorship goal and counting! To donate, you can email us at hello@topangafarmersmarket.com.

Thank you, Topanga, for showing up, for supporting local food and craft, and for making this year truly unforgettable. As we step into the new year, we do so with hearts full of gratitude and a clear vision for what’s next.

Peace, love, and produce —

Kate & Freddi

And Your Topanga Farmers Market Team
