Ready, Set, Thank You!Celebrating the Heart and Spirit Behind ReadyFest2025

Thanks to the tireless efforts of nearly 50 volunteers from across Topanga’s many community organizations, ReadyFest 2025, Topanga’s Emergency Preparedness Fair at the Topanga Community Center, was a resounding success!

The Topanga Coalition for Emergency Preparedness (TCEP) led the planning and production of this year’s fair, joined by dedicated volunteers from Topanga Fire Safe Council, Topanga Town Council, Topanga Arson Watch, Topanga Reach With Love, and CERT Topanga.

Hundreds of residents attended ReadyFest to learn from expert presentations on home hardening, fire weather, Evacuation Orders, Shelter-in-Place, Red Flag Warnings, SCE’s Public Safety Power Shutoffs, insurance, and more. TCEP is incredibly grateful to the West Basin Municipal Water District and anonymous donors, whose financial generosity made it possible to record the presentations and share them with the entire community. Follow @TCEP90290 on X, Instagram, and Facebook, and check TCEP’s Emergency Status web page (tcep.org/emergencystatus) for updates on when you can watch the presentations online.

Thirty lucky attendees went home with raffle prizes generously donated by local Topanga businesses—including gift cards, art classes, custom crafts, theater tickets, and more. A round of applause to all these wonderful businesses who pitched in: Topanga Creek Outpost, Do It Wright Painting, Endless Color, Melanie Made This, Pebbles, Café Mimosa, Topanga Art Tile, MoonaStar, Velvet Marshall, Kinship Station, Hannah Wear Native Plants/Seeds, Busto & Sun, Topanga Creek Outpost, The Love School, Artemis Studio, Canyon Bistro, Topanga Farmers Market, B-Love, Canyon Gourmet, CERT Topanga, Tomas Yerba Mate, Mermaid Inn, Topanga Homegrown, Jessica’s Baltic Mermaid, Theatricum Botanicum, Topanga Town Council, and Jalan Jalan Imports. Our local businesses have faced tough times with the Palisades Fire and multiple road closures, so their generosity means even more. Let’s keep supporting them year-round!
ReadyFest is just one of many ways the Topanga Emergency Management Task Force (TEMTF), co-chaired by TCEP and LA County Office of Emergency Management, is working to get Topanga prepared for disasters. Next up: the Topanga Evacuation Guide—a new companion to the Topanga Disaster Survival Guide—will be arriving in mailboxes soon! It’s packed with essential information to help you navigate evacuation orders safely. Read it, keep it handy in your car, and share it with your family and neighbors. on www.onetopanga.com/readyfest-2025/
