Santa Monica Mountains Fire Safe Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to wildfire safety and community education, is hosting their 2nd Annual Fire Safe Festival on Saturday, May 16th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wildfire Learning Center (LACoFD Malibu Forestry Unit), with parking available at Tapia State Park.
This free, family-friendly event is designed to help Santa Monica Mountains residents build a safer, more informed relationship with wildfire and the environment. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with local professionals and learn about fire ecology, home hardening, defensible space, fire-safe construction, native plants, and more.

• Wildfire Evacuation Board Game (starting at 11 AM)
• Fire Ecology Nature Walk
• Student Art Contest
• Demonstration Home & Garden at the Wildfire Learning Center
• Free Native Plants
• Screen printing, acorn art, and additional hands-on activities
• Food available for purchase
Topanga residents know well the importance of fire safety. All are welcome and encouraged to take advantage of this free event which will provide not only much-needed information, but also fun for the whole family.
