Join the Topanga Historical Society on Sunday, July 31, 10 a.m., for a rare opportunity to visit 69 Bravo, the state-of-the-art, one-of-a-kind fire fighting helistop that helps protect the entire Santa Monica Mountains and surrounding areas from wildfire.

The guest speaker will be wildfire expert Drew Smith, the Los Angeles County Fire Department Fire Chief whose fire behavior knowledge and strategy skills helped prevent the Woolsey Fire from reaching Topanga.

69 Bravo Helistop is located atop Saddle Peak with 360° views of the surrounding area. Water-dropping helicopters can quickly refill from self-replenishing tanks that hold 10,000 gallons, providing Topanga and our neighbors with the world’s top firefighting supply station.

This is a rare opportunity that is limited to THS members. Visit topangahistoricalsociety.org to join or to RSVP. Participants are asked to bring sun protection, water, and a folding chair. if needed. Parking is limited. Request a parking space by email: info@topangahistoricalsociety.org.
