A Shot in the Arm

Topanga Canyon Art Gallery’s latest group show features local artists sharing their vision of what would give them a much needed “Shot in the Arm” after a year of isolation and restraint.

The works include a wide range of paintings, from intimate figurative works to plein air paintings of the local mountains. The show also features ceramics, glass sculpture, and a whimsical steam-punk sewing machine.

We are fascinated by Donna Geist Bush’s disquieting cubist take on COVID-19 entitled “Pandemic”, and entranced by “Water, Sky, Clouds”, plein air painter Russell Hunziker’s subtle, tonalist meditation on the colors of the sky reflecting on still water.

There is something for every taste in this eclectic show. The exhibit can be experienced in person at the gallery on Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 5 p.m., 120N Topanga Canyon Blvd, Topanga, CA 90290 or online at https://www.topangacanyongallery.com
