2025 Palidems Garden Party

The Pacific Palisades Democratic Club has invited US Senator Adam Schiff to their annual Garden Party, as well as the following elected officials who have already accepted their invitations: Congressman Brad Sherman, State Senator Ben Allen, Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, Supervisor District 3 Lindsey Horvath, City Attorney, Heidi Feldstein Soto, City Councilmember Traci Park, and LAUSD School Board Member Nick Melvoin.

The Pacific Palisades Democratic Club has been hosting some version of a late summer Garden Party for at least 12 years. But this year’s gathering (Sunday, September 28, 2 PM) takes on special significance in light of threats to Democrats and democracy itself coming from the Trump administration, as well as the hit the PaliDems have taken from the Palisades Fire. Several board members lost their homes; the club no longer has access to the Pali farmer’s market to interact with community members; in-person events are a challenge for a scattered membership, including the club’s student reps, who must attend classes outside the Palisades; and most of the org’s merchandise, a key source of revenue, burned up. All this after the club spent an unprecedented sum on the 2024 elections, depleting their reserves before knowing how dire 2025 would become.

The Garden Party offers a rare opportunity to not just hear from and question but also mingle with elected officials, candidates for local office, and other VIPs in a relaxed setting — a beautiful indoor/outdoor-flow home in the Palisades Riviera, with food, drink, and camaraderie. In addition to the speaking program and food, the club hosts a silent auction, and sets up a swag store offering newly ordered political merchandise, showcasing current issues and candidates as well as retro-historical collectibles.

A big topic at this year’s event will be the all-hands-on-deck action required between now and November to pass Gov. Newsom’s Prop 50, California’s response to the mid-decade gerrymandering Trump successfully pressured Texas to pass. This is one of many issues sure to be discussed by elected officials and guests alike. For more info and to get tickets, visit https://palidems.org.

Enjoy delicious food and drink outdoors in the Palisades Riviera, and hear from and mingle with electeds and VIPs.
