Canyon Sages Hold a Fire Trauma Support Circle

Do you continue to feel emotionally challenged by the recent trauma of the catastrophic LA fires, floods, and landslides? Our lives have been altered in so many ways; the loss of homes, habitat, and highways, as well as beloved communities, have deeply affected many.

When we come together to share our feelings and stories, we have an opportunity to heal by releasing fears and renewing energy. Hearing our neighbors’ stories of loss, trauma, and courage can help reconnect us to ourselves, our humanity, and our community. The safety of a small group supports moving gracefully into the next chapter of our lives.

The Canyon Sages is offering a free After the Fire Emotional Support group on Wednesdays, from 1-2:30 in the Sages Room of the Topanga Community Center. All ages are welcome. No charge.

Often there are no easy answers to our challenges. Having a support group can help soften the harsh realities, and encourage hope. To date, the Fire Trauma Support Circle has had 16 participants. All are very appreciative of a place to share their burdens and find peers.

Mary Guillermin and Linnea Richards, have been mental health professionals practicing with Marriage and Family licenses and are comfortable facilitating groups. They are committed to this offering until it is clear there is no longer a need. For more information, call Linnea Richards 818 818 3004.
