Vita is a Star!

Topanga Elementary Second Grader Vita Cotu earned first place  in the K through second grade category in the LA County library‘s annual bookmark contest. Her ancient Egypt-themed artwork will be printed on bookmarks that will be available at all county libraries  this spring.

Vita told the Topanga New Times that she used colored pencils to create her winning bookmark, and was inspired by a how-to-draw book she checked out from the Topanga Library. An avid reader, Vita also enjoys riding her bike, playing softball, and snuggling with her dog Utah.
